About us

Tim Stephens

Tim is an outdoor educator and qualified teacher with 20 years of experience working in the outdoors. He says that Dartmoor in South Devon is his backyard; the best playground in the world. Born in Ballarat, Australia, Tim’s thirst for adventure stemmed from an early childhood of exploring the bush and he was known to plead with his parents for just one more adventure justifying each one as ‘the chance of a lifetime’! His boundless enthusiasm is infectious and his knowledge is extensive.  Tim holds qualifications in mountaineering, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, outdoor first aid and mountain biking.

Rosie Stephens

Rosie, a Primary School teacher, once quipped in a job interview when asked about her hobbies that she ‘pretends to be outdoorsy for her husband’s sake!’ Anyone who knows Rosie will know that she is passionate about seeing people, especially children, enjoy the great outdoors, but her biggest passion is organisation and planning! When you contact Everything Adventure you are likely to correspond with Rosie who will ensure that your adventure is completely tailored to your individual group and smooth sailing all the way. She has been a fan of adventures since her teenage years when she first visited Dartmoor on her Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions; then went on to travel the world enjoying the different cultures in Kenya, South Africa, Canada and Turkey to name a few. If your adventure involves food then Rosie has almost certainly sourced (locally and ethically) or grown the produce and made the delicious cakes and scones herself.

Everything Adventure was born out of a desire to see all families go on adventures together. People love to adventure but don’t always have the skills, knowledge and equipment to do so safely. That’s where we come in – with a combined 30+ years of experience working with children and young people in the outdoors and the classroom, we have a passion for seeing everyone find adventure in everything! Tim and Rosie live on the edge of Dartmoor in a beautiful spot overlooking the moors and run most of their activities near Haytor, Hound Tor and on the River Dart. Tim is also very pleased when he gets asked to lead expeditions further afield and knows great spots in the Lake District, The Peak District, Scotland, North Wales and The River Wye to name a few.

What a day! The river scramble was so much fun – it was great to have an activity that was a challenge, but we felt safe the whole time in Tim’s capable hands. The picnic was DELICIOUS too!
